Liffey Descent Race

On Saturday the 13th of September the 49th Liffey Descent took place. In total there were over 750 kayaks/canoes involved with participants totalling nearly 1200. This year seen a number of Entrants from Phoenix kayak club which is always nice to see. Most of the entree from the club were in the General Purpose class while a few of the more competent paddlers came bearing K-boats. Weather for this years event was amazing with the sun shining from early morning. The fiels at Straffan had been hit badly by the rain over the past few weeks and this could clearly be seen by the number of people requiring there Skoda's to be towed (Micheal).

Congratulations to all who took part in the race from the club and lets hope we have more next year.
